We had arranged to meet for dinner, so I could borrow his laptop for use in my upcoming Hong Kong trip, where I would hopefully be presenting some of my designs to potential clients at the Toy & Games Fair there... And here are the photos I took of our delicious meal at Lao Beijing...

first tvc of the year... posted at 01:37 AM I'm very very excited to announce that I've been selected to appear in my first TV commercial for 2007!!! Got the news on Wednesday, and the filming will take place tomorrow, which is just a day before I fly off to Hong Kong for my own work/holiday! Also, out of sheer coincidence, I had two separate costume fittings today: one for the above-mentioned ad which will appear around the Chinese New Year season, and one for the short film "Hole In The Wall"... Stay tuned for more updates!!! [ Feeling... * working * ] |

wine lust... posted at 03:07 AM It was a night of wine and a bit of dining at the restored colonial gastro-bar, One Rochester Park... My sister Alain works there, as does another long-time friend Juwanda, but both were busy tonight with the full house of guests... I had invited David along in return for his recent generous treats, and besides my friends, Ckay and Zaggy, I also got to know a few more interesting folks. Such as Yvonne, the ex-journalist back on holiday, who came up with the event's name: Wine Lust The relaxing music produced by the jazz and bossa nova band was perfect in this alfresco setup, and thankfully there wasn't more than a slight drizzle at the start, which stopped just in time... The BBQ and cheese sections were tasty, but could be better prepared for an event of such a huge scale. With all the wine we're sampling here and there, all excellent stuff from Australia and New Zealand, we needed more food to line our stomachs... Or maybe that's just me... ;P [ Feeling... * ditzy * ] |

pizza hut tvc... posted at 12:46 AM Some of you have already caught the latest ad that I did, but I have yet to see it myself. Hope it turned out well! For those who have not seen it, do keep an eye out for this... This "lucky draw" ticket appeared as part of the Pizza Hut ad, so these numbers might not bring anyone any prizes. But do stay tuned for more, as there are real big prizes to be won during the CNY season! Cheers! [ Feeling... * happy * ] |

jap cream pasta... posted at 03:04 PM My stomach growled right on cue last night at 1.30am, and after a slight deliberation (say, 2 mins) I decided to head downstairs for supper... Alas, all the usual food stalls that normally closes around 3am, are already shut. The only viable food option left is to be found at... 7-Eleven... So I entered the store that never closes (unless it's a mini store at some obscure location). And a quick scan of the fridge revealed only a few boxes of microwave-able food items that could pass off as supper snacks... This was what I ended up with:
Japanese Cream Pasta Snack from 7-Eleven The contents were surprisingly tasty, but for S$3.50, I was kind of expecting slightly more than the single layer of pasta and salmon bits... Oh well, I'd better start taking down the closing hours of my favourite supper stalls already... [ Feeling... * restless * ] |

hole in location... posted at 05:09 PM On Saturday, we started rehearsing for "Hole In The Wall" on location, which is somewhere far far far away in Tampines... Jon did scenes with Qiaoyun and I first, then sometime later, Jane Ng (who will play the role of the Dance Teacher) joined us... Here are some of the snapshots I took during rehearsals...
FYI, that cute little white Budgie is real... it budged... After rehearsals, Jann and I went over to The Eye Place at Stamford House to try out various glasses and select one for my character, Alan, in this film... And later, tonight, I am gonna collect it! [ Feeling... * chipper * ] |

patricia arquette on ellen in halloween special... posted at 05:32 PM Watching Ellen Degeneres' show on TV right now, and they're playing last year's "Halloween Special" (yeah yeah)... Ellen had a little pre-show skit about her evil twin, Sabrina (played by Ellen herself), taking over the talk show for the day! She's absolutely a hoot and a half in that brunette wig and corn jokes (yes, "no puns intended" etc)... And the bonus is: Patricia Arquette ("Medium" You can see the segment here: And OMG her half-man version looked pretty much like her brother, David Arquette! Coolness... Incidently, I have been following Patricia Arquette in "Medium" all along, and it's up to Season 3 Episode 9 right now. She's really good (and won some awards last year apparently for it), and this TV series is definitely worth watching! [ Feeling... * nerdy * ] [ Watching... * Ellen * ] |

i am framed... posted at 03:15 AM The pair of Swissflex glasses that I've chosen for my role in "Hole In The Wall" is now home with me, and I've tried wearing them the whole evening just to get familiar with it... It's pretty lightweight, but anything extra on my nose bridge sure needs getting use to... And this is how I look in them...
Edric Hsu wearing Swissflex I think I am getting really fond of these glasses. But at around $300 or so, it needs a bit of considering first... [ Feeling... * nerdy * ] |
